Hi, we’re Jared and Qi, the duo behind Liobôn
My love for desserts began in the kitchen with my mum and grandma. Since I don’t eat dairy, I started adapting recipes so I could still enjoy my favourite treats. After studying culinary arts, I began creating both simple and intricate plant-based desserts — always inspired by the people around me.
One of my earliest memories with my partner, Qi, was making mooncakes together. That moment sparked the idea for Liobôn, a way to share the flavours we grew up with, reimagined through our blended cultures.
Liobôn started in 2023 as a creative outlet, but by 2024 I decided to fully commit to the journey. The name was inspired by my cat, Lyra, and a love for old German words. I came across Liobôn, an early form of Liebe, meaning “to love.” It felt just right.
